The Bachelor's in Health and Fitness Specialist degree program at Globe University provides comprehensive, science-based training that exceeds employer expectations.
- Many employers expect candidates for personal trainer, wellness coach and recreation director positions to have four-year degrees.
- As a group, employees with four-year degrees earn more than those with two-year degrees, diplomas or no formal training.
Why a bachelor's degree for a health fitness professional?
Effective fitness consultants, personal trainers, strength and conditioning coaches and group fitness leaders are truly health science specialists. Serving generally healthy clients from diverse populations, they evaluate individual fitness levels, prescribe exercise programs and wellness programs, educate clients in group and individual settings, and serve as program administrators and business managers.
There is a growing general concern that those who assume those responsibilities do not have adequate training. Unlike other allied health professionals, personal trainers and fitness coaches are not held to any general certification standards. In response, many employers are showing a preference for job applicants with bachelor's degrees in health fitness, exercise science and related fields.
